The meaning of the Zeh(e)/Zeeh surname
in a book called "Dictionary of German Names by Hans Bahlow of the
Maxkade Institute for German American Studies, Madison WI,
2002--pp.569. The author traces the name, meaning, and locale back
to its earliest use and shows the Zeh(e) means either tough or
toe/claw dating back to the 12th century.
